Drive shaft outer CV joint Rubber boot problem ?

I was having problems getting the new gaiter over the funnel until I realised that the temperature at which the gaiter will stretch enough is critical. It needs to be really hot. Wear gloves!
I put the gaiter in a large pan of water and get it to boiling temperature. Take the pan to the car, fish out the gaiter and on to the pre-greased funnel really quickly.
Use a long piece of rag to twist into a 'tourniquet' to grip the gaiter and push. Should go fairly easily.
Anything less than almost boiling temperature and the damn thing just won't stretch enough.

Ok, thanks. I succeeded with it finally, the rubber outer end was very easy compared the one near gearbox, just first turn around the rubber, grease it and drag it ower. Now i would like your best tips how on earth to get the star lock three pins in their positions, if you get one the others run away? I have this H.R.Etzholds book but it aint as easy it describes, yes i have a modified tool shown on r-3628 pic. Surpricingly i do not have the keil(wedge) as shown in pic r-3629.
Beginning to be hopeless w- out nerves.
