1965 Paint code dilemma

I'm spraying the roof and boot on my 65 R4L, it has a paint code S1-414.

The company I bought the paint off has supplied me with the wrong colour, even after I gave them the door to match it and mistakably, I told them it was 414 which then only matched to a post 77 colour.

So wondering if anyone has knowledge of original composition of S1-414 colour so I can give it the guys at paint shop. They weren't very helpful unfortunately.

Such is Life- a quote by our very own Ned Kelly. Who was an angry yet reflective pyscho nutcase.

Cheers

Only data I have:
Blue, Renauilt
414
1965-1971
Pro-spray number BL16287DG

First time I asked for some I got the '77 silver too (which was also used on the R4 to confuse things).

I've struggled to get hold of the original 414. Seems it is available only in 2 pack. That pro spray number might mean something to the paint shop.

Thanks for info guys, I contacted Renault Australia and they came up with Cannes Blue, (pronounced Kanz here!) paint code 06644, paint shop mixed and VOILA! Wrong colour...

I'm going to try a smash repairer and see if they can weave some magic. Any magic...Probably would have been more cost effective to just get them to do it in the first place.

A point worth considering to any like-minded amateurs out there like me.

Onwards and acrosswards.

I'd risk franzose paint but it has to go by sea as dangerous good and I may have expired by that time. PS I'm after a cover for the rear hatch mechanism, anyone got one?

Cheers

I went to a paint specialist and they whipped out the Spies & Hecker spectrometer paintometer magic colour machine and can now announce anyone ever looking to 2pack match a S1-414 Renault colour can now use Spies & Hecker Formula Id 5413035.

All 3 of you in the world will now be able to confidently obtain this colour quickly.

CASE CLOSED!

Bon Chance.

Anyone got a cover for the arm that holds the rear boot door up they don't want?

Cheers

Steven

Our paint shops never worry about colour codes on such old cars, they simply ask for a panel (the ventilation flap is very handy!) and match the paint on this.
