Hi again . In an attempt to cure my cars over heating problem I have bought a new water pump and need anyone to give me a little advice about it . when I compare the two pumps everything is matching except the thread on the original pump shaft is standard direction ie right twist and the thread on the new pump is left hand thread . The original pump has a locking nut but the new one isn't . Sould I go ahead and fit the new pump but make sure the shaft nut maybe has some loctite on it . The pulley doesn't have a groove for a woodruff key but the pump shafts do . Advice please

Would think the direction of the pumps rotation when working may be self tightening with LH thread, but not the RH thread hence locknut for RH, but not necessary to have a locking nut with LH thread.

That's great I believe my particular engine has a different rotation direction to most others . Can you tell me how many BAR the expansion tank cap should be rated at on my car . Thank you .
