Hi All
It's time to sell my 1979 R5 GTL. Part of me is tempted to break it and keep the engine, but I would much rather it went to an R5 enthusiast who will appreciate it and eventually put it back on the road.
It's an R1225; 1289 cc engine (810/26), and has done 76,500 miles. I've had it for 8 years; it's been on SORN for the past year, but I've started it and tested the brakes fairly regularly.
It was first registered on 24/04/79, so will be 40 years old next year. It's a pretty rare car - there are just a handful of RHD 79 5s left in this country.
£500
It has a lot of rust in the usual places, so will need extensive welding. I'll put up a few photos here, and can forward more by email.
If you're interested, please message me via the 'Conversations' system - I'll pass on my phone number.
More rust photos to follow!
