Reluctant sale of "Stanley". Stan is a 1976 4TL which in its first 10 years only covered 6.5K. I've owned Stan since 1996 and had a number of enjoyable years driving him round the bend(s). Stan has had thousands spent on him including a full engine re-build 5K ago. A combination of him needing a new cylinder head gasket and welding on the floor-pan and the off-side front wing plus working ridiculous hours has meant that we have grown apart. Past work has included welding up at the rear end, the other 3 wings replaced, new bumpers and ancillary chrome strips, bought new but never fitted. The seats are unmarked and match the mileage. I am looking for £300 for Stan and another £100 for a shed load of spares including virtually a complete new set of windows plus light fittings, bits, spare front grill, spare engine & gearbox. Its breaking my heart to sell Stan but realistically I just don't have the time to invest in his future. Contact mgbentham@hotmail.co.uk if you are interested.

Enquiries regarding Stan's welfare.

Nick... Thank you for your interest. Following is some information which I have sent to other interested enthusiasts. Geoff. Bentham
Stan has been off the road for about two & a half years. I was driving the car to work one day and the radiator split due to corrosion. Unfortunately I was going up a steep hill at the time and the sudden coolant loss was I believe was the cause of the damage. The car still had plenty of power but there was a pressurising of the cooling system that was forcing the top hose of the engine. This was after I had had the radiator recored. I had real problems finding a replacement top hose and it was months before I tracked down replacements for both the top & bottom hoses from a garage that was closing down. I had to rumage around in the basement to find them so I obtained 3 of each. I've no pictures of Stan although my wife has just bought me a camera for my birthday so I will attempt to get my head around the new digital technology and post some pictures. Its really as you expect for a 34 year old car with its original paint except on the wings and the new bonnet that I fitted about 4 years ago. Additionally there is a hole due to corrosion in the driver's footwell. Hope that helps. Geoff. Bentham
