Anyone interested in a 1980 4tl (850cc)?

Good points

solid body and chassis - some welding done in the past but all looks good. Has replacement front wings and no rust in rear wing seams.

Only done 30k miles

Good engine and gearbox.

Sunroof - not the Renault one but a Webasto style aftermarket type.

A generally very tidy car - original paint (red - faded to more of an orange now) a little thin in places and front wings resprayed in a slightly different shade but looks fine. Interior is black vinyl and all good.

Bad points

MOT runs out on 25 July - should be no major problems but....

Clutch has gone - completely. It will not move an inch - I suspect pressure plate damage. I have a clutch kit ready to go in but cannot get the car into my garage because another project (citroen ds) is hogging it.

A small ding to the bonnet which has removed some paint. I have pushed it out but it needs filling and touching up.

I can't see how I will get the time to do the clutch before the MOT runs out so I am offering it for sale - £250 anyone? Car is in Bath

I would be interested.

I wouldn't be able to replace the clutch myself, do you have any idea how much a local garage would charge to collect the car and replace the clutch.

- not sure but I would guess about £150-200. Anybody else know better?

Is the sunroof a full length one?, any photo's?.

- More like 3/4 length. I will try to post photos soon.

just changed the clutch on mine,i think its almost the same apart from the driveshafts might be a little different as mines gtl
it took me a few weekends to so it as its not here at home
1 bolt was rusted into the starter motor but apart from that it wasnt really too difficult just time consuming as id never done one before
i guess a garage would want at least £200 as a decent clutch seems to be £50-60
i managed to pick a good one up off ebay for £15 though, although my old clutch was fine when i took it out as its a low mileage car and the main problem was the arm seized up
shame your not a bit nearer or else id help you do it
maybe someone off here lives your way and could lend a hand as it would sell much easier if it could be driven

get the pics up though
you never know i might even have to buy it off you ! :)
as 1 s never enough to own

Hi DG,
Any photo's yet?, would like to have a look at the sunroof and general condition.

Cheers.

Jody.
