65 R4L issues!

I've nearly finished getting the old girl back to running, still on list are adjusting brakes and getting handbrake cables back in, bugger of fiddliness, I have noticed the car won't start unless it is in neutral, with gear engaged and clutch in it won't start, but why???
Weird.
Any ideas folks?

Clutch disc seized, or mechanism not releasing properly? If you start it and try to engage a gear, what does it do?

Theres a bit of crunch, but I haven't tightened adjusted the cable tension yet.

If you adjust it correctly, it will more than likely start with the clutch pedal depressed!
