Getting it together

The timing gear on the 845 cc engine we're rebuilding is chain driven and the sprocket on the camshaft is loose. It's supposed to be a press-fit but isn't even finger tight. Obviously the key was what stopped it rotating freely.
The chain tension probably would keep the sprocket more or less in place but that would likely cause premature wear of the chain or the chain tensioner and mean the full force of drive would be borne by the key. A sub-optimal arrangement we think.
I can't find a replacement in my usual sources (Melun Retro, Der Franzose, eBay, ...). Plenty available for the Sierra / Cleon engines and a couple of double chain ones for the Ventoux but no single change sprockets.
Can anybody suggests a source?
Even a good second-hand one though I suspect they might be rare.
