Happy to oblige Stan but you maybe need to be a bit more precise. Offside wing presumably. But for what purpose? To which position on the inner wing?

Hi Stan

Offside Measurement centre of Distributor Cap to edge of wing where its bolted to the inner wing (the most definitive line I can measure to) is 470mm

Hi all, I hope this explains what I need better, I am going to fit bike carbs to my gordini engine. I already have a set of carbs and manifold that I will adapt to suit. The reason I need that measurement is that the air box of the existing setup would be very close to the inner wing, (I think)
The airbox would end up at a position near the inner wing, level/horizontal, across from the top of the distributer, this being on the drivers side of a right hand drive 84 GTL.

That sounds good to me as the manifold + carbs + air box is 340 mm so should be plenty room, the reason I had to ask is that the body is off the chassis at the moment therefore I have nothing to measure. Thanks Stan.

The flaw in your plan is the gordini engine uses same block and distributor drive position but sits further up as gordini crossflow head is taller
inner wing on r4 is tapered and higher up = more clearance so not sure how measurements off car will help ?

Ah ok, looks like I'll just have to leave it till I get the body on and do any mods from there.
