I got given a little welder during the summer and this weekend I finally got around to using it for the first time. Now it's only a little gasless mig ferm,but it welds brilliantly!

Funnily enough the first thing I have welded with it is James Duck target, which he had shot to pieces and needed welding back together again.

Thank you to the lovely kind person who gave us this brilliant tool!

I'm now gathering a list of bits and pieces together to weld together and have already got quite a task to weld all the bits and pieces of tin work on the tractor I'm sorting out.

Gasless welder

I have also been using one of these on the Sinpar - I got fed up of buying small bottles of gas plus, trying to buy a full size bottle here proved prohibitively expensive for the amount I was using it. I think it is very cheap if you buy the spools of wire on eBay

I found that it took a bit of time to get used to it, but now I can do reasonable (strong but not always pretty) welds - still blow holes in thin metal though !

I found the MIG site on the forum a great help

This and a gas set seem to cover pretty much everything

I was thinking of buying one of those mig no-gas welder, to begin working by myself on my 4...
What I have to look for to be sure I am buying a good product?

Well you see...

Malcolm the good caretaker and owner of this good forum, also happens to run another interesting site...

Here's a link;

Best asking on there rather than on here, although I'm sure it was Malcolm who recommended the welder I am talking about in the first place :)

I rmember Malcolm talking to me about the welding site in the summer now you mention it
