Advise on starting problem

I need some advise , yesterday my 4L was starting badly and I tried to set the tuning on the carb , put some more petrol in and it turned over great and drove it, then started it through out the day started first time , the the day after , I added more petrol and tried to start it and it just would not fire , any suggestion why that would be , any advise would be great , may I messed up the timing , what is the correct way to set it

So it starts ok when warm but not when cold?
Could be the choke, or maybe flooding.

Mine is very sensitive to too much choke and/or pressing the accelerator when trying to start when hot. It seems strange though that a sudden problem like that should be fixed by just adding more fuel. Maybe a carb. clean and resetting might help? And a check of the ignition timing
