Well i was busy putting the finishing touches to Bertie for his mot on Thursday
(which it flew through by the way ) and a lady stopped and said that she has one of those in her field and it's there for ages, wondered if it would be of any use for spares so i popped over to have a look and this is what i found.
I will be collecting it next week and then having a closer look to see what it needs.,
Why oh why do they always have to be red.

Even though it's red, it's a nice find Rob, it looks like it grow there.

Thanks Brian, but it's going to have to wait until i've finished the other one i'm getting ready for the road. yes that's red as well.

Why are the front wheels on in Photos 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 but not in 7? Did you take one off or was it just propped on?

I think that car is saying something to me... BJN... BJN... BenJamiN... ... ...

Nothing wrong with red but that's the fifth one i've got and they are all red ( would have been nice to have a different colour ) but i got a blue F4 which is itching to be on the road.
As for no wheels the brake were all seized so had to take the wheels off to free them, Mat helped, one of my other son's ( who has a Renault 5TR, but i think he's on the turn to a R4). It was last on the road in 2003 after a bit of fettleling and encouragement it eventually fired up and off it went.

very good find, looks ok apart from a small rear wing reepair. Its had an upper ball joint too.

Yes other wings are fine but does need a replacement floor section on the drivers side, and serious attention to the breaks so with a bit of luck sound not be to long before it's up abd running properly.

Well collected the R4 today on my newly built trailer, it fits on a treat and it tows very well, so now the investigation begins.

Patina

Doesn't just a small part of you want to clean only the glass, lights and reg plates, then Mot and use it just as it is? It would make the crowds go wild at car shows, especially if entered in the concours...

very good!

My car looked a little like that when I picked it up too, It had been sat behind the Kendal mint cake company in Kendal and was looking almost as sorry as your latest acquisition.

Err a chap advertised it on here, it was a non runner although he told me it was just the starter motor that was the problem.

We went all the way up to Kendal with the premise that if we didn't buy the car we'd at least get to do some walking.

In the end we bought the car, watched a fantastic night time procession of classic cars and then went walking round Windermere, Best weekend we'd had in ages.

The chap who bought it was called James and he also had a metallic green one for sale which although right hand drive was not as good bodily! I don't know how it got there, I picked it up bought it home, put a new starter motor on it and then found out that the liners had gone in the engine, I then ended up getting an accident damaged car from Poole that I stripped for parts and replaced the engine.
