I have a Kangoo with an F8Q-630 engine that has died (cracked head) and the closest I can find is a Clio with an F8Q-730 engine. If I change the fuel pump which is coded to the ECU will it then just drop in or are there any other issues.
Hi, i have the same problem, a kangoo van with blown engine F8q, i have found a clio & a 19 but not sure if it will fit, if you find out i would be greatful if you could let me know and vice versa........ jon
mmm what can i add
not sure on exact codes involved but engines are very similar and SWIFT bought a kangoo a while ago and put1.9 extra diesel van into it think he used engine and box as sump is ally on kangoo engine??( steel on clio) and box bell housing is diif erent on bottom edge on gbox face
can use clio non immobilised pump , just feed 12v on ignition supply to stop valve
if you change pump you will then find cambelt lengths different as pum[p mounts lower to clear clio bonnet line also bosch injectors wont run on cav lucas injectors or vice versa etc
pm me or ring 07973423795 to discuss if you want to
also to add i have got a dead w reg kangoo d65 at my workshop (makes a nice shed)
it is alleged to have good engine but wont run as no ignition key or transponder chip for me to test it out (stick to R4 s no problems there)
probably too far away for either of you
Hi Paul
Thanks for the info, i was aware that i would prob have to change the pump but to have to change the injectors, sump and possibly gearbox it seems like a bit of a task!
i was told that as long as the engine was a F8Q there shouldnt be a problem, DAM i will have to look out for the correct engine from some were.
if you can get clio engine cheap enough and you know it is good i would just go for it as wrong sump will only leave a gap at bottom exposing fly wheel slightly ( dont try and change sump as oil pump is driven differently (chain on later engines )
leave clio pump and injectors on
run 12 v feed to pump
swap water outlet pipes over (all swaps ok )
exhaust will match up
have put loads of "wrong engines" in renaults over the years so as long as you have the capabilities and lateral thinking most differences can be overcome
mind you the 1647cc renault 16tx was a little bit of a challenge to fit into my R4 !!
call me (or text me a landline number and i get free calls to you)
I have been offered a Kangoo block from a 1999 van but the guy doesn't know what version it is. How do I tell the difference between the 630, 632 and 662 by just examining them?
