Barn Find 1978 4TL

Hi folks

I have just purchased a number of items some of which I don't need - one of them is a 1978 4TL. It belonged to an old lady who only used it to go to the post office - honest. Actually that is true - she was the second owner in 1984 when it had done 36000 miles - and it has only done 43000 now. It has stood for at least 5 years though in a dry barn. It is blue with an excellent tan interior (vinyl) and I have posted a few pictures here:

I am advertising it here for a week or so before opening it out to the whole world in all the usual places such as Ebay as I would like it to go to someone who actually wants one!

It needs some work, the front wings are tatty and so on, but other bits are remarkably good (the tailgate looks perfect for instance) so I consider it to be a dead easy restoration (and as a professional vehicle restorer I know what I am talking about - www.rustytrucks.com). I have a new 6v battery in the car and I am going to have a go at starting it this afternoon. Then I will get it out into the daylight and look really closely (as well as take tons more pictures which I will put on the link above)

I will be looking for somewhere close to £1000 depending on what I find, and I will be happy to offer a 25% discount on my normal rates if anyone wants me to do any work on it before they take delivery. But I am not a dealer so there is no hard sell - come up with the right reasons why it should be yours and the price will almost certainly drop! I am also always up for a deal swap or part exchange so give me a go.

Watch this space for more details as I discover more, and feel free to contact me - either here or, better yet, on rustytrucks@mail2world.com

Daft as it seems I would like it to go to a loving home.....

I am up in Cumbria but could deliver a reasonable distance at cost

Barn Find - now has a new home

Many thanks to all who expressed and interest but the Renault has now found a new owner. It is staying here for a while though so that it can get its chassis welded up a little, and I will post some pics on my website.
