Big End Locking Tabs

Getting it together

Hi Guys, in the throes of rebuilding a mate's 845 800-05 engine with him.
The locking tabs for the con rods big end nuts have gone walkabout.
Experience suggest they are not going to turn up until after the engine is reassembled.
New ones would be good anyway.

Does any one know where these can be obtained? My search of the interweb has been quite fruitless so far.

Or, are they really necessary anymore - will a good shot of Locktite or similar binding product as used on the 1108 engine be as good?

Geoff

They used to be available "once upon a time" ...but not nowadays! In fact, I think Renault didn't use them in the later engines. In any case, Loctite after degreasing the threads is more than adequate.
