Has anyone ran the 1100 gtl engine on bike carbs? Anyone think its possible?

Here is a photo I had found somewhere in the web.
I had fitted some Keihin carbs from a GPZ550 on a friend's Daihatsu Charade ten years ago. Three out of four originally fitted to the bike, as the engine was three cylinder. The biggest problem was to fabricate the inlet manifold, as this engine used it to house the thermostat and circulate the cooling water in the engine. Other problem that was never really solved, was flooding, even after fuel pressure had been reduced to very low level.
The carbs alone gave impressive power gains to this engine (when all worked OK!) to the extent that the (new but standard) clutch would not keep up! But they were difficult to set up correctly, I didn't have an AFR reader back then, and whatever I did they ended up flooding, so we eventually thought they were more trouble than good, and abandoned the project.

Well I've been talking to a lad who did it to his mk1 golf as its bit of a thing in the dub world and I just trying to replace what could be the harder working parts of the engine with more easy to get parts.

We know we gotta make a new manifold, so I would like to get my hands on a 2nd one as well as a gasket as the kiddy says i need one to hand other to the company that can make the manifold for me.

Was planning of running carbs from a FZS Fazer as i ride one. I was concerned about flooding since the R4 jet is only 0.8mm to feed four, so maybe a smaller bike carb again like that of a CBR400RR might be looked for.
 
Flooding has nothing to do with main jet size. Regarding carb size it's completely different when you have one carb feeding four cylinders, versus one carb feeding one cylinder of the same engine. It's a science by itself choosing the right size carburettor(s) that is covered very well in a lot of books. Suffice, however, to say that motorcycle carburettors, as they have a variable venturi, are less sensible to "wrong" size choice.
Whatever carbs you choose, pay attention to keep them at roughly the same angle they were mounted on the bike.
