body parts - interchangeable?

As some of you know, I have the nastiest R4 known to mankind so I'm in the process of doing it up. I have bought some replacment doors from a 1986 R4, but the fittings are different (86 one's seem bolt on but the 76 one's seem to have welded hinge plates.

Has mine been the subject of unimagiable abuse or is there a "proper" difference and can I get around it?

Door hinges changed in 1981 from external welded to internal bolted. Renault officially said that the new doors can be mounted on the early A-posts, but I guess it will be a lot of work and careful measurement...better find pre-'81 doors.

If you get completely stuck I've a set of early doors. Or maybe 5 sets. Condition variable and I want to keep a couple of sets, but the next best is yours if you want.
