Last production r4 had reverse lamp holes cut in them so a point to consider if looking to keep early car original looking for period

All tailgates after 1965 are the same apart from those early '80s ones which were the same apart from holes for reversing lights. The '70s ones had a different hinge, though that is bolt on so shouldn't matter. I don't think new ones are available any more apart from the occasional old stock one that pops up so second hand is the best bet.
