Brake light switch

Hello Folks,
Anyone know the part number for the TL brake light switch?, it's the two connector hydraulic one. The number I think it might be is Intermotor XBLS10?.

08 54 250 300 or 08 54 482 100 or 78 73 396 100 are the original part numbers

I looked in the Intermotor parts list and XBLS10 doesn't exist. It would be useful to know what year your car is, engine size and oval plate number and I can check it again.

According to my local motor factor XBLS11 is a non hydraulic type, perhaps for the GTL?, but the spec of XBLS10 looked promising?. But if you say there's no such number?It would be very handy to know the correct number so he can order the right one?.
When the brake pedal is pressed really hard the brake lights do work, could be dirt in the switch, I'll remove it tonight and investigate.

I had similar trouble with mine, but didn't buy a new one as I had a spare. I didn't see any way to service it.

Have you tried Renault? Lifestyle Renault will pop things in the post, or renault4mad could do the same.

None of the current intermotor part numbers (on their web site) for switches have XBLS...... It could be that your local factor has an old parts list but Intermotor tend not to change their part numbers so it may be that your factor uses their own parts numbering system???

Anyhow, Malcolm's suggestion of contacting Renault sounds promising. The switches are non serviceable but it there could be some gunge in there. Try blowing it out with a high pressure airline first.

think you will find same switch is used on r8/10 and alpine a110 so most of the european specialist should be able to help if all else fails ie mecaparts etc

cant confirm as no parts books for me to cross reference but worth checking out GCTON will know more as he has both types of car

No, the R8/R10/Dauphine/4CV brake switch is longer as it also holds a banjo fitting for the brake lines.

If you can't find it bison, it may be available here, I replaced mine last month and found it easily.

Thanks folks, armed with all this info I'll visit my local parts specialist who is also very helpful, I'm confident of getting one now.
