Bring Renault4 from Morocco

My name is Leo, I am new to this forum.

I took my driving licence 3 years ago, and since then I have been driving a Renault 4 in Morocco, where I live 6 month of the year.

I was wondering how complicated it is to legalise my Renault4, which is from 1965 or 1966 If I remember right, but still running really well. And I have other one that is from 1984-1986.

It is my first car and I love it and would love to have it here in UK. To bring it here isnt a problem, but the question is regarding the road tax, mot etc....

Any help would be great.

Been asked lots before so its worth having a search. But basically, bring it here, MOT, take MOT and docs to DVLA, fill in forms and get UK registration. Not sure whether you might be liable for VAT or any form of import tax what with it coming from outside the EU?

Buying a R4 in Morrocco

Hi Leo - seems like you might be the right guy to answer a question for me. I'll be in Morocco next Summer and would love to buy a R4 to use during my stay - any tips on where to pick one up? Are they plentiful over there?

R4 Morocco

You will be happy to know you can pick up an R4 very easily in Morocco. Not sure that you can purchase one to put on the road in Morocco though if you are only on a tourist visit. I think you need to have your Moroccan residency card to register it. But not 100% sure on that. The prices are going up now as they are the in thing for the young people and they are being painted bright colors. The repair costs are low in Morocco. You can check out Avito.ma to see how the prices are. I know there is one for sale by my neighbor in DarBouazza just out side of Casablanca for sale 18,000DH I think it is a 1990 or 91
needs a pant job but runs great. It is owned by an American couple. Hope that helps.
