Car was running fine but I stopped to check under the bonnet.
Fiddled around a bit and
Jumped back in the car and it wouldn't start?. It turned over fine but wouldn't start??????
I hadn't disconnected anything or moved anything.
Bizarre.
So over the next hour we checked everything as we all do.

Basically checked everything, everything worked fine but no joy starting.
Stumped, until I took the air-filter off and looked down inside the air intake and I noticed the little flap (I don't know the proper word for it) was closed as if I had the choke pulled right out.!!!!!
I checked INSIDE the car and NO the choke was pushed right in???
This was why the car wouldn't start.
The reason why the flap was closed was because the mounting bracket of the choke cable (right under the air-filter) where it goes back and forth over time had worked itself loose. See photo
When I fiddled around under the bonnet, I obviously knocked the bracket and the flap closed by itself.
All it needed was to tighten the screw up (See red arrow in photo) in the middle of the bracket to hold it all in place.
Now when the choke was pushed in the flap was open and it was fine. Started first time.
It took us an hour of checking everything, and 60 seconds to mend.
Add this to your check list of reasons why your car wont start.
Good luck
