After finishing all the suspension on the fourgonette I did a service. I ran the car for about 10mins but once it was warm I found that if I put my foot on the accelerater quickly the engine faltered (run roughly) it sounded like it took a few seconds to catch up to the responce of the accelerator. I tried pulling out the choke about half and it responded better too. Do you think this is a carb thing? maybe the fast jet or such like.
will investigate tomorrow. I think I have a rebuild kit for this one too:cool:

Sounds like a great big air leak in the inlet system to me. Possibly the carb isn't bolted on tightly or the restrictor in the hose from the rocker cover is missing.

If the problem started after the service check if the vacuum advance is working.

Malcolm I think you probably right I warmed the car up and disconnected the pipe it did nt make any difference to the running at all there was vacuum at the carb end.
How do I replace one of these I have never done that before is it a new distributor or is the unit replaceable.
I had noticed it before the service too just thought initially it may be carb not clean
thank you

You can replace the vacuum advance seperately, though I believe they are no longer available for the Femsa distributor. The Femsas aren't up to much anyway the Ducelliers are nicer. Motor factor ought to be able to find one, failing that Renault or a second hand distributor.

You can check the vac advance by removing the distributor cap and sucking through the pipe. Should be no leaks and the base plate should twist around as you suck.
