Hey there,

My name is Nick, 19 years young and living in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham. I currently have a 1988 Austin Metro (26k on the clock-excellent condition) but would like a change soon. I've recently been looking at Renault 4's; the first thing I noticed is that they are a bit odd-but real beauty comes from within like! I would like something which stands out again and is more interesting than plumping for a boggo new European-chocolate box (The Metro is gold with a beige interior, so it's definitely something different!). I also noticed how rare the 4's actually are, so with a little help from the forum I'm hoping to find a nice example I can cherish for a long time (I'm not the boy racer type ya see, don't like speed)...

Welcome Nick, if you're not into speed you've come to the right place, although a few forum members have "souped-up" there 4s, the rest of just potter about, well I do anyway. Hope you find a suitable car, the 80s GTL being the most every-day usable car, and I think the most plentiful, if that's the right word, as it's getting harder to find a goodun. Regards Brian.

Thanks for your warm welcoming reply. I have been informed the 80's GTL is the pick of the bunch, being fitted with an 1100cc engine (I think), but as with any old car condition is more important than specification.

Best wishes
Nick
