Hello,

My R4/ 1989/ 949cc / has just losted the smallest pulley of the cooling system.
I was able to pick it up from the street but I do not know how to fix it back and I think I am missing a connection part.

Any idea where to find some help?

I am in Clapham London

Thanks

Are you talking about the idler pulley and bearing that fits to the water pump with a bracket and tensions the fanbelt? If so you'll be better off getting a good secondhand one from Liam or a new one from your Renault garage.

Liam is a member of this site. Go to 'members list' click on 'L' and you'll find him. Send him a message asking if he has a pulley (although he may even read your post and reply). I think Renault will also sell you a new part - try your local agent first - if not try Whitehouse Renault - the link is on this site's home page.

If the bearing fell apart (common falure) you will see its inner race on the pin of the tensioner and the outer race in the pulley. You should remove these races (the outer is held with a circlip). It is just a matter of buying a new bearing (SKF 6000-2RS1 10x26x8) and pressing it in the pulley, pressing the pulley/bearing on the pin and for around 5 euros you have a new tensioner!
