Cost of Engine Rebuild

Looking for some information on how much a full engine rebuild might set one back.
Say 845cc engine.
Any information appreciated.

2K sounds about right if proper parts used (I'm sure Derek would) beware of cheapskate workmanship using all kinds of
Rubbish-parts! FYI:I've got 2 850cc motors All complete w.ALL outside-parts incl gearboxes.All mounted and completely
working as should. They are Plug & Play No but's or if's... at under a quart apiece of the price for rebuilt unit..........-R.

There should be loads more good engines about than chassis but most people seem to like the idea of making sure all is good while it is out for a body off restoration job
Pistons and liners crank grind chain valves bearings and gaskets all available but won't be cheap with labour
Me if it's not broke dont touch it

I agree with Paul, an R4 engine will need a full rebuild only if it was heavily neglected or abused, or has mileage of 300K kms and above.
