This is an interesting one (kind of)

Ive spent ages searching for some sutible nuts with a 45degree chamfer.

I have two sets of wheels, one of which ive just had refirbished to go on my Blue F6 and look fantastic. The others are as I bought them.

I had a look at the wheels im going to use tonight and they DONT HAVE 45 deg chamfered holes....

The centre is also slightly different with a ridge around the inside of the hole that is missing on the tatty ones.

The markings are different between the wheels too. The tatty ones are marked with the number 1966, MADE IN FRANCE and the rim size. The blue ones only say on them 'TURBO5' and the rim size

Have i got some replica wheels here?

What do people know about the possibility of replicas being made? Im hoping they are not known to be rubbish!

What i need to do tongiht is find out exactly what taper angle these blue wheels have!

MiM made copies of the Dini Turbo wheels. There were a set on a Dini replica project advertised on eBay a few months ago. It may be that the wheels came with special wheel nuts - Scimitar used a standard bolt with a separate washer type thing that is chamfered to suit the wheel.

If you want 45degree nuts and don't want to machine your own, there's a company in Canada that make gold anodised alloy ones. I've fitted some to the R4 F6 van I'm doing up. They really look the part and only cost $25 a set - about £15 I think + P+P. I'll dig out the name of the company I got them from - I'm sure they advertised on eBay.

Holes on my rims seem to be the same as those on your blue rims. There was a picture on this forum of adapted nut, it had 45 degree chamfer.

P.S. It says that my rim were made in Belgium.

Them'll be the ones. I think he said he only does 10x1.25 in gold but it's worth asking. The gold isn't quite as bright as shown in the photos, it's a bit more subtle.

My friend who took the wheels to gat the tyres mounted clearly needs specs! They are all the same. I measure the chamfer angle today and its as close as you like to 60 degrees.

Found some nice nuts too from an ATV specialist in Folkestone (AllBikes, 01303 248444). M10x1.25 60deg chamfer.

The gold anodised ones on eBay from canada look to be 60deg to me, but they guy hasnt emailed me back with the answer to my question. Either way, i have some sutible nuts on the way i think... finally
