It's a bit tricky to explain. The little projecting tabs beside each wheel have to line up against a metal bar incorporated into the speedo body. Only if this is done will the numbers roll over correctly.

The easiest thing to do is to get another speedo and dismantle it VERY CAREFULLY without moving the wheels at all (or simply peer inside it). This will show where the metal tabs need to be, relative to the speedo framework, in order for things to work properly.

The tabs move independently of the numerals so it is possible to set any KM reading so long as the tabs are moved into the correct positions. But if they are not set properly the numbers will roll over incorrectly (i.e. 9 will not necessarily lead to 0). Patience is needed!

hi and thank you for the help,I really need to learn how to work with this one, I have 3 instruments panels one at the car a new one in very good condition with 56000km and the one I just disassembled to learn how do they work, the goal is to setup the same kms I have at my 4l at the new one and them replace it.So if you don't mind I will need more help I will come back in a few hours with picks so we can understand each other better.

back, ok "The little projecting tabs beside each wheel have to line up against a metal bar" those you refer are the number 2 right?
so once I have them all lined I just have to carefully rotate the wheels to the desired kms right?
can you explain me the function of the number one and number 2?
I believe this info may be interesting to more people at the forum.
thank you
