doors next....anyone know what chance getting glass, rubber channel strip etc out without breaking the outer plastic trims? Is the rubber channels available from someone like Woolies?
The awful plastic handles feel like they'll disintegrateinto a pile of powder before too long - anyone know if there are metal ones from other cars that fit?
I intend to leave off the rubbing strips for a cleaner look, so i'll have to fill the 2 holes; i also intend to cut some apertures in the inner panel, so i can access the bottom of the door; i'lll also fit a sound deadening pad to the outer panel...i'll also probably ditch the speakers in the doors, and just make do with one central speaker to save wires trailing across.
I've heard mention of door seals from Germany- could anyone point me to the particular person in Germany!....Is that seal the same as the tailgate? (although the tailgate seal has corner mouldings at the lower corners, but i guess these can be omitted?).
Lastly, but not least, does anyone have or know of a drivers door and tailgate i could purchase- mine are quite rotted...the car's a '83 GTL.
Any help gratefully received......(i'm not running)....ade

Is the guy with the red panels the same guy that's trying to flog them on eBay at the moment? I think the drivers door was been sold but tailgate is still there: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320167760323
I've got a partly stripped GTL drivers door if you get stuck. Condition OK. No bootlids that aren't rusty though.

Door glass on the GTL is easy to remove. Pull back the rubber seal on the inside of the door and you'll see 3 or 4 metal clips. Push those out with a screwdriver, then pust the rubber seal over the lip in the door. The whole frame should push out from the top then lift out upwards. Once the plastic frame is removed from the door it will be flexible enough to pull the top away from the bottom enough to get the fixed part of the glass out.

Door seals - Angel said he had some new ones he would sell - might be worth sending him a private message. If you find the other source do let me know - I'll be after a set or two soon.

This chap has tried to sell them on ebay quite a few times but with no takers. I pinched the ad from the Renault4Play website as he has them advertised on there as well.

thanks for all the help....i think i may be buying the various doors (not drivers), tailgate etc off this chap in Bristol...ade
