how many oil seals are there per side on a 354 gearbox ? and does anyone know where I can obtain them ?

It should be the same that HA0 gearbox - so if your renault dealer tells you they're no more available, you know you can buy the ones for the more recent gearbox.
There is one oil seal and one o-ring per side; I changed mine about a month ago, if you need the renault cod. I should still have packages... Paid around 50 euros for all 4 pieces...

"Der Franzose" or "CiPeRe" as they call their french based subsidiary has them.

www.cipere.fr

Unfortunately the O-Rings are only availlable in the complete gearbox-gasket-set.
#82425 - 18.90 Euro

The driveshaft seals are #81092 - 5,69 Euro each

Cheers,

David

O-rings can be obtained from any bearings/industrial supplies shop, and their price for top quality Viton items is around 2 euros each...

Can you give us the measure of this o-rings, if you know it? So we can bu them in advance, before dismounting the driveshafts... ;)
Thank you Angel!

104 x 3 , if my memory serves me correctly.

The driveshaft seals are also industry standard 36 x 54 x 8.

Fast and precious as ever.
On franzose site the seals are measured as 36x54x7,5 but I do not know if this half millimeter makes a great difference.

I am sending you part numbers from original renault catalog for HA0 gear box
It is on Croatian but you can find dimensions according to numbers on document.

O-ring is 104/105x3 (it is wobbly so can not measure right)

And still can be found in Renault garage but are little bit pricey
Prices in Croatia are in table (In HR Kuna - divide by 9 and you will get GBP - approximately)

Driveshaft seals are measured as 36x57x7,5... But in the drawing above are 36x54x7,5 again!

(Thanks Petak!)

Correct outer diameter is 54mm.

Original fitment seals were 7,5mm thick, seals commercially available now are 8mm thick. Absolutely no problem or difference!

If You buy industrie sealings, You have to ask for gearbox oil restistance. Sometimes it's really very difficoult to reasemble it. The O-Rings stick exaktly at the first thread turn. If it's to cold it sometimes doesn't work. You can use the old O-Rings ansd seal it with loctite.
