Hello i wonder if anyone can help me to this problem.Went
to work today in my Renault Kangoo diesel and while
on the M11 the Electronic incident warning light came on
for the first time and i lost all power so quickly pull over
to the hard shoulder by this time the engine had cut off
so i turn the key and to my surprise it started straight
away then i drove the 70miles home without a problem do
you know what this could be and will it happen again thanks
John.

Hello thanks for the reply yes its a 1.9 diesel but i have just done another 400 miles so i hope thats the end of it and it was just water in the fuel as the hand books suggests it seems to be running well what do you think?p.s its done 30,000 miles.

I would not think its water in the fuel as that would mean it's either blocking the fuel filter or it's getting past the fuel filter. If water is getting into the injection pump that could start to cause serious problems in there and will eventually need a rebuild. You drain some off the bottom of the filter onto a glass jar and check just to be sure.
Was it on that really cold morning we had a few days back? Are you using cheap diesel? if so, the fuel might just have started to wax, but again I think unlikely.
My feeling is still EGR valve. Use good quality diesel, go onto www.goodgaragescheme.co.uk and find your nearest good garage and see if they will sell you some 'forte diesel treatment' and add it into your tank.
I use this stuff on every car I service and have less EGR problems than a colleague of mine who does't use this stuf so I am convinced of it's benefits.
good luck

Thanks for the feedback
