quick question for Monsieur Clementine

Is it possible to fit a phase 2 Renault 5 tranverse engine into a R4 or phase 1 R5 inline engine type
To me the bigest problem seems to be the pulley for the alternator/water pump There is a blanking plate on either end of the engines for the water pump it self so that should not be a problem
but the drive for the belts ? on the flywheel end of a later engine seems to be a problem I guess the cranksheft pulley on the rear/ left of a later engine could be removed and blanked off I also guess that on the early engine the drive comes from the camshaft

I have several R5`s phase 2 to break They are very cheap here mostly with exellent engines But I wouldnt dare break a R4 or phase 1 R5
I have 2 F6 vans that need engines and a phase 1 R5 with a warped head A new head gasket only lasts 2 minutes

Any ideas
If this subject has been covered before could you direct me the link
Many thanks
Martin
