Fitting a sunroof

Ladies and Gents,
I have the chance of buying an electric sunroof from a Citroen Saxo Open Scandal (strange name!). Has anyone fitted one of these to a TL?. Still waiting for the dimensions to make sure it will fit. Anyone know how it compares to a Twingo sunroof size wise?.
Alan.

Hello Malcolm?

Ah deafened by silence!, hehe.
OK, Malcolm, I remember you saying the headlining on my '76 TL would be a pain to remove, do you happen to know what the re-enforcing supports look like?. I'm wondering if I might get away with cutting the hole in the metal then trimming the headlining from the hole, thereby abstaining from removing the fiddly cardboard bits and tearing the headlining.
Alan.

I can't find any photos of the headlining supports. They are bent wire pieces that pass through 1/2 inch loops in the headlining fabric and engage in plastic grommets at the side if the roof. They would likely pull out from the middle once the hole is cut. They maybe glue a bit of foam to the roof and stick the remaining bits of headlining to that.

Thanks Malcolm, sounds like I might be able to do something like you suggest. If I snip the wires, they feel like spring steel through the material, I might be able to locate them somehow on the sunroof fitting frame. Will keep you informed, although it will be a couple of weeks at least, engine rebuild on my other car has to be finished.
Thanks,
Alan.
