There is two gussets in the floor pan that I can’t see what purpose they have. Seems to be only plastic knobs holding rubber mat inside, or is there any other function that I can’t see?
To much reinforcement for holding rubber mat

They are seat belt mounting points on early (pre-73) cars.
Been out to garage today.
My seatbelt mounts are in front of these gussets that hold the floor mat with maybe M10 plastic knob. See pictures.
Maybe dual porpoise on these? No need for gussets to hold floor mat.

If you remove these plastic plugs you will find that thread is 7/16" UNF, industry standard for seat belts.
Looked at the 1971-75 parts book and it lists the rectangular plate where your seat belts are fixed as a part fitted only on Swedish and Norwegian market cars. Floorpans may had already had the round fixing points welded on at an early stage of production, and they were of no use on such cars.

Thanks for exillent detective work.
Everything becomes understandable then, big thanks. In our cars then gussets have no pupuse and is a big rust trapp.
