Hello everyone
I own a 1985 Renault 4 GTL RHD. I am only its third owner: I have most of the paperwork including the delivery notice from its first owner.
For a variety of reasons it was off road (in a garage) between 2007 and 2010... then it was renovated (2010) but someone ran in to it the day the work was completed (I kid you not). Damage was done to the driver's side as can be seen in the pictures... At the time I could not afford a whole new set of repairs so it was SORN: the culprit was nowhere to be seen and it was not insured in any way: basic error! A recent set of quotes for getting it back on the road means renovation is now way beyond my means. I have tried all kinds of means to get the work done, even applying for Car SOS but to no avail... so with HUGE reluctance and a massive dose of regret, I am now forced to sell.
As far as I am aware there is no structural damage but then I am no expert... What I do know is that having been sat outside for so long (this time there was no garage so it's been sat on a back lot) things haven't been maintained... the engine was started (but the car not moved) and it sounded OK to me but then I am no a mechanic, ergo no expert... well, aside from knowing the purr of my beauty.
Question... I am now looking to sell the car - it has to be moved from its current site as soon as possible, and I cannot find a suitable off road position but don't know what kind of price to ask. To me it's priceless but in all seriousness does anyone have any idea as to what I might ask?
Or come to that... does anyone want buy my car? It's based in Nottingham. (For safety's sake, I would say it will need a trailer to take it to its new destination.)
It's last MOT was in 2007 and the odometer reading was 55672. It has done a few miles since then but nothing major. During it's life with me it was, in the main, maintained by my father who, before he retired, worked as a motor mechanic, along with a wonderful mechanic from Northern Spain who drove Renaults in his youth so always had a passion for my car.
Any help and/or advice - or come to that offers - would be great.
Thank You!
