Hi guys, a bit of assistance please if you will.
I'm replacing the front shoes and have already removed the drum, however the wheel stud plate sits firmly in front of the springs etc. Before I go and do the wrong thing and brake something I shouldn't what's the easiest way to remove it... I surely have to don't I otherwise it looks like one mare of a job!?
Cheers

Hi Nick

What you refer to as the 'wheel stud plate' is in fact the wheel bearing hub. The outer front wheel bearing is concealed behind it. There is no need to remove it to change the front brake shoes. You would be generating a lot of unnecessary work for yourself by attempting to remove it. Admittedly, it does get in the way and masks your view of the brake shoe set up but it is possible to change the brake shoes with it in place. The front brake shoes on an R4 are not the easiest of brake shoe set ups to change but it is possible with the correct tools and perseverance, they will test your patience!

Sorry yes, meant the hub not stud plate ..
Thank you for your reply, seems like the most impatient person in the world is going to have to find some... I kind of knew that someone would say what you have. I'm more used to big old yanks where you have lots of space to work and repairs are relatively simple..
Thanks again, appreciate it
Nick
