Hey there
I have ben trying to fit a front hand brake and drums on my early R4 from 1964 ( the previous owner had it swaped to disc brakes ) and I have some troubles doing that so I thought you could help me.
I've got some questions
1st - I visited franzose.de and noticed that there are two lenghts of cables for the front hand brake. Ones are 1055/1495 and the orhers are 1035/ 1479
As my car was modified by the previous owner a lot , I have no idea from what year the parts I got to restore the brakes are. How is it possible to determine which cables I need ?
2nd Did the early models have limiting valve at rear brakes to reduce braking force depending on the car load ?
3rd question is about mounting the hand brake mechanism lever under the hood. I noticed that there are two holes with thread in the chasis that fit perfectly but the mechanism should be bolted with four screws so half of the mechanism is hanging in the air and I don't know if there should be some support mounted under it to bolt it to it? A picture to help you understand what I meant
