Front inner wing removal

I've started work on my R4...
I have removed all the bolts from the inner front wing, so now only the kit is holding it to the rest of the body (quite tightly). Whats the best way to remove the kit? Certainly not pulling, cutting also doenst seem to go great, so, should i burn it or anything?

Should be about 5 or 5 bolts along the bottom of the inner wing, and another 4 on the back edge that go through from the inside of the car.

Once those are undone it should start to feel loose, and the only thing holding the inner wing on will be rust and sealant to the bulkhead. It should wiggle free so long as you've found all the bolts.

so kit is sealant in english :D

I found 6 bolts at the bottom of the wing, then a few to be unscrewed from the inside of the car.. i might have missed one or two though cos it seems too tight to be just sealant left, i'll see tomorrow.

Any advice on loosening screws that are rusted to the nuts? i had to cut two apart with dremel cos they wouldnt come off

Most of the bolts along the bottom of the inner wing will be rusted. I use an angle grinder (big dremel).

There is nothing much you can do with them as they have captive nuts which spin arouind in their casings.

When removing the front inner wing (driver's side, RHD) you need to deal with the brake lines. What do people suggest? Mine seem a little corroded in the master cylinder but may be persuaded to come out if necessary. I'm aiming to remove the body entirely if that affects your advice. Thanks, Bob.

I'd undo them, put a bit of wd40 on to help loosen the nuts, leave for a couple of days then loosen them off, failing that I'd cut them off and replace with copper.

Be very careful when loosening the nuts if they're tight.

If you use an open ended flat spanner, they have a tendency to slip and before you know it, the nut edges will be rounded off, which makes it difficult to grip. You also can't replace the nuts because the ends of the brake lines are flared.

I bought a spanner like this, which made life a lot easier
