Hi there
I'm a new R4L owner, and my girl, although working perfectly, has her fuel gauge stuck on empty, no matter how much gas I put, once I turn it on it barely moves 1mm and then stops
I wanted to try to learn how to fix the smaller issues she has, and figures this would be a good place to start
I wanted to disassemble the gauge to see if I can maybe reattach the float to the arm or something, but I have no idea where it is or how to take it off
Any help will be appreciated thank you

Before and as you remove the tank, work out how you get it back in. I managed it on my later 1985 car but was completely baffled by my ‘72 car.
Also there are different fuel sender replacements. I was unable to find a short stem unit for my early car, and solving that took time.
Finally, while you are doing this you might want to look at the interior of the tank, especially if you find debris in there, and do a resto on the tank. There is a product called POR 15 - Frosts sell it on the internet. It has a cleaner primer, and then a coating for the inside of the tank which is indestructible and will protect the tank, and stop it corroding from inside out, the usual way. It’s a job you only want to do once.

Before you do anything else, it's worth checking your fusebox for corroded/poor connections - try pinching the contacts above and below the fuses to see if it makes any difference. It'll only take a few minutes!
