Fun with door barrels?

Has anyone taken a door lock apart so to remove the barrel?

Found that the TL had only one door lock on it and would like the look for my GTL but I think I need to take my front passanger apart and swap the barrel from one of the spares i have.

I did it with Gtl locks
Have pictures somewhere but you will need to wait to get to comp.

There are two pins you need to remove to take all apart.
Pointed on next picture
1. split pin that holds barrel
2. role pin that hold door catch






Barrel it self

It is just matter of pulling out that chrome cap.
After that it will separate it self.




Here you can see that part which is hold wit split pine is not symmetrical. Be careful when you putting it back.
If you change position of that part .......driver side /passenger side....... your car could stay opened even if you have turn key to lock.






And remember (or take photo) how spring is positioned so that you can return it in right direction.
