Gap between manifold and bracket

Hello folk!
I'm mounting a zenith 32IF7 carburettor on my 850cc. (strangely, when I bought the car there was a 1100cc one fitted in). Sadly, I stopped to the cable throttle bracket because I noticed a gap between that bracket and the inlet manifold aperture. The gap measure about 2.5mm.
Now, my question is: how can I "fill" it? Could be a good idea joining together more gaskets (three could be okay)? Which kind of paper should I use?
Thanks a lot!

Been puzzling over your problem for a couple of days and I think Stan is correct. On my 850, there is a plate that is bolted to the cylinder head. It passes over the manifold (exhaust) and ends up under the carburettor. Between this plate and the bottom of the carb, there is indeed a gasket. It's made from a type of hard plastic material.f you need a photo let me know

It does sound like the spacer is missing, this is normally made of hard plastic and helps to prevent the heat from the engine evaporating all the petrol in the carburettor.

I do not remember that oval metal plate between the manifold and the carb on mines...

The spacer should be as on mojobaby's photo, not below the throttle cable bracket.
If you loosen the cylinder head bolt that holds the bracket, you may give it a chance to relocate itself (it has an oblong hole at this end), so that this 2,5mm gap becomes less. The paper gasket normally fitted between the bracket and manifold is about 1 mm thick.
Tighten the cylinder head bolt after the carburettor fixing nuts have been tightened.

Thanks guys for your replies! I finally solved the problem bending a little bit the bracket paying attention to maintain it horizontal to the manifold inlet surface. Of course, I put the two gaskets too in the order: carburetor - gasket - bracket - gasket - manifold.
Now I would like to solve another trouble with the carburettor. Here it would have been OT so I'm opening a new thread ;)
Thanks again for your help!!!!
