wish you all a Happy Easter-and while you're cheerfully putting along think of Roffen that is in need of some parts (see tread for parts needed)
-would be nice if he were to rise up on the 3rd day or thereabouts..

A pic showing the complete engine to frame-mountings of a R5gtl around -77 (engineR1225) installed in a R4 (F4)-both LHD would be VERY useful. same g.boxes on both so will use the one attached to the R5engine..
Anyone feeling the call-Anyone??

pepper-don't overdo all that work in Belgium as I need you to get back home in one piece to check out that crossmember....

Paul-I have searched all over the forum, but can't seem to find the complete info I need re. Roffens transplant..
How about a step-by-step ??? -R.

Do you have Easter on a different weekend in Norway? Photos are a Gordini (apart from the first two - that's the lovely Yvette), but I'm using the GTL mountings for the engine.

HI Malcolm! Uh-Easter at same time c",) we're just Quick off the mark over here!
Thanx Much for clear informative pixes!!!

Your last pic (5) showing identical engine-mount w. rubberblock to that I have on this R5engine (LHS) should there also be a 'support-strut' to keep engine from jerking??
Have been on this Fantastic forum ALL day to look for previous info,

Have now concluded that the Frame-mounted engine-mounts for the R1225 are indeed different(angle) from the ones on Roffen..

On your pic no.4 they look to be near horisontal where the bolt would go through-Right? Roffens framemounted brackets are angled inward at around 42degrees..
If so;
ADDITIONAL PARTS URGENTLY NEEDED:
Engine-mounts (the part of them that is bolted or welded TO Frame)for R5gtl/R1225-77ishLHD R.

The RHS engine mount (looking forward from the driver seat) doesn't have a brace. That's only the other side where the starter motor gets in the way of any sensible reinforcements.

If it wasn't so urgent I might have been able to help. I have the parts but they will be difficult to retrieve for a couple of weeks until I move my bodyshell. Until then there is no access.

Check the mounts on the engine - I've a feeling I changed one from the R5 type. I think the RHS one, but I can't remember why.

looks like we are on the same page here Malcolm! -Only LHS should have a brace -as does this R5 engine I have.
Will have a real close look at the mounts but they look exactly as yours inc.the RHS-one maybe you had to change it because it had cracked-up and died .
I guess the production-parts were welded on to the frame and as
spare-parts they will come as bolt-on, like yours.
Again-Thanx Much for assisting me on this one Malcolm
Molto Obragado! -owe you one at the local pub.

so with the good help of Malc's and other good helpers on here I now know I need the following parts:
(1) 2 mounts for forward-mounted radiator (sits innards ea-front-
frame)(could also use the bolts and especially the 'nuts-in-the- basket' sitting inside frame..BTW Whats the correct name for these nuts??
(2) 2 Enginemounts (R+L) -the parts actually mounted ON frame
-Anyone know the part-numbers for these???
(3) 1 crossmember/brace/support (sits between inner-wings)

-R.

Renault 4 ones were always bolted on to the frame (countries with a later Easter call it a chassis).

now this starts to look as harassment of all us with earlier Easter..

would it be too early to wish you a Merry Christmas now? -R.

Is it Easter yet?

We're not too busy in Belgium, have spent the day with my family visiting a great zoo near Antwerp and we've had a lovely meal with the director of our company and his family.

I'll be back late on Friday so will pop up early Saturday morning to check out that crossmember for you.

Hi pepper! seems you're having a nice time in Belgium.
look per now I am well covered as Malcolm kindly have arranged to send me the needed brackets plus crossmember,so you might
have a cuddly sleep-in on Saturday.
-I agree with you, it looks a very tight squeece for the hose,so will
put on my thinking-cap to see if I can get battery-shelf even higher.
All the same I Thanx you Much for responding to me request!!
Hope you get BB out on the road again soon. -R.

Happy New Year Reidar!

Bonsoir Marra, relieved/delighted that you've got some help to sort out Roffen's transplant/upgrade issues - I know there are specialist custom radiator hose makers here in uk who'll make any colour/shape/bore size item usually in silicone, but at a price, if all else fails. An alternative is to use the appropriate angles of correct bore size but shorter ren 4/5 hoses and then use straight/custom bent stainless steel tubing :p and secure the assemblies with some tasteful :p s/s jubilee clips. Kit car builders tend to go for this less expensive yet tasteful alternative. (I watch too many cheap late night sky sat tv motor programmes - I'm a serial nightowl . ) Blog your progress/pics on the forum - I'm sure there's a lot of interest and you are a pathfinder ;) for the aspiring Hennessy Hooligans in our ranks . Mmmmmm........ porting and polishing the inlet manifold . I'm looking forward to your solutions regarding the exhaust mod/upgrade to aid gas flow and reduce back pressure.:p
