I've done the same swap for yellow ones but had to go back to a set of clear lenses as the yellow ones was good as gold in foggy conditions but was too dim for night-driving for me. -Next up will be a bi-focal windscreen-which will scare the Bejeezus out of oncoming traffic as they see my HUGE face coming their way. The best arrangement is to have clear lenses and add yellow bulbs for that quintessential "French" look. Using P45T bulbs, which fit into the circular holders you'll have 60/55 watt halogen bulbs, and you can slide a yellow cap over the bulb, still gaining that "French" look, but with seriously powerful headlamps. This would apply to 12 volt cars only.
