Hi all,
Would just like to say a big thank you to this site and all its users. I recently purchased a 1988 Renault r4 f4 van,; he is French. It is awesome and I love it!!! However I was having a small problem when pulling up at junctions and he was stalling. Something just didn’t seem right and when ticking over always sounded like it was about to cut out.
Any way...... after reading other threads on here I believed the problem to be the ideal jet in the carburettor. I am no mechanic but have always had an interest in cars and that is part of why I bought my R4. So.... after taking the air filter off and dismantling the carburettor I removed the ideal jet cleaned it and adjusted it 1.5 turns from closed as suggested on here.
She runs like a dream!!
Again..... thank you Renault 4 people
