Hello,
Are there new part numbers for the alternators that have an external regulator? I'm looking for one to fit on/with an 839-06 engine.
I'm actually looking for 2, but can't seem to located an equivalent replacement. The two old ones are a Ducellier 7579B and a Ducellier 7579E-
But I can't find them anywhere, even been to some very overpriced alternator specialty shops, and they say that these are too old to find replacement units, the same goes for the other parts listed in the Haynes book: Ducellier 7549, SEV 71228102, or Paris-Rhone A12R11 -is this really true?
But what really confuses me, if I chose to get the 'new' style Renault R4 alternator with a regulator built in (which there are many), the mounting position is different??
The one I have has two mounting arms on the bottom, and one on top. The new ones only have a single mounting point, which will clearly not fit using the current hardware? I think this is the one the store had that I saw- Valeo 433401, and the pictures below are what I have, definitely won't work. (Additionally, they would be able to order/get a Mahle MG400, Guttels 89771, or a Delco-Remy DRA1791 -but I presume they are all the same style as the Valeo)
I was thinking I might be able to use the new style, and just bypass the regulator, or maybe rewire -but that will only work if I can get it to fit.
Has anyone come across this, or am I missing something?
This is what I have-
Back of alternator-
Hardware/Alternator on bench-
Inside the engine-
Hardware inside engine-
