Greeting from USA. I am a vintage mechanic currently working on a Customers 1988 Renault R4 GTL Master from South America.

From the pictures can you help me identify the specific Carburetor Type, Engine Size, and Distributor Type?

Best regards,
Shane

Hello Shane

The distributor looks like a Ducellier R248 C33, converted to electronic ignition (perhaps a factory option, given the red sticker on the bulkhead).
The carb looks like a Solex 32 SEIA. (There were many different specifications - is there a metal tag somewhere on it?)
The R1129 GTL was unknown in Europe, and I haven't seen the engine number before. Did the car come from Colombia, by any chance? I've done a quick search, and it seems that the R1129 GTL Master had a 1022cc engine (European GTLs are 1108cc):

Someone on here may well have more precise information, but as the South American cars had different specifications from the European ones, your best bet might be the Colombian R4 Facebook page - they'll tell you immediately.

More info here:

Good luck with the car - it looks great!

The car is imported from Columbia! I agree that the carb looks to be a Solex 32 SEIA and I agree that the distributor looks like a Ducellier R248 C33 with an electronic conversion.

Thanks for the response!
