I have a friend who has a Clio 2001 1.5DCi in the uk
It seems the diesel pump self destructed and according to the garage has now got to replace everything from injectors to pump to tank as its full if metal filings
can you suggest anything? I have found new injectors in UK are 250 quid for 4 where as in France I can get them for 100€ maybe thats the only way to go
Any chance of a scrapper of 2001 ilk?

now ive just spotted this as well (more typing)

1.5 dci clio has electonic inj pump and injectors coded to immobiliser system and ECU
very unfriendly ,suggest local diesel specialist as they should find a cheaper solution

several years ago my local renault dealer was proposing to change absolotely everything !!! including tank and fuel lines etc on an 18 month old kangoo diesel which had been filled with petrol and only briefly started <£1000.s !!!!

their reasoning was the car was under warranty and if pump failed due to misuse they could not cover it

was it not already in their workshop i would of simply drained it out as i have sucessfully done many times

Thank you, I have passed it on, I don't know what she is going to do she is really down about it, she only bought it a couple of months ago
