Hi
Well after 18yrs without an R4 I now find myself with a 1977 R2106 4 van in 423 blue with only two owners from new and of which the second owners have had this van on the same farm from January 1980.
My first 4 was a 1984 GTL in the usual red ( reg A157UTL if its still about ????) and bought from A C Williams in Ancaster in April/May 1994 with 10 months MOT and a one lady owner who traded it in for one of the last R5's if I remember rightly for just above scrap value as the front inner and outer wings were shot. After fitting inner wing repair top plates and a pair of front wings, new chrome bumpers, repaint the wheels and my Dad running it around for four months (I was only 13 when I bought it) it was sold to make way for a Dauphine.
My list of Renaults so far includes 1x R4 GTL, 4x Dauphine's, 2xR5's, 1 x R5G, 2 x R8's, 3 x 10's, 3 x R11's, 1 x R16, 2 x Laguna's and now my 4 van and also having worked at the above dealership in the late 90's I've deffinatly caught the Renault bug Haha.
So far the van's paintwork is starting to clean up although will need a spray in the future, the usual rear suspension rot has set in and a couple of other small holes in the floor pan which can easily be plated without floorpan sections being let in.
