Hi all. Had an R4 way back in my youth, many moons ago. Have now moved to France and they are everywhere in my neck of the woods and most of them lookas if they were bought new by their current owners. Going to see a possible buy tomorrow. Have found all the info on this site incredibly useful. Fingers crossed.......

Hi Taz,
I know the feeling mate. The first one passed me going in the other direction this morning, on my way into town. I must have spotted 4 or 5 stationary, dotted about. Then two at my local garage before passing another two on my way home. I believe it's called a Pandemic!
I have fond memories of your neck of the woods long before the A20 was thought of. It was Uzerche. Early 90's. The crustiest, most tasty bread in my life from the little Boulangerie at the bottom of the hill heading north. It was on the left..... I wonder if it's still there?
Good Luck tomorrow.
Please post some pics when everything comes together,

Good luck with that. By chance I came across a parked R4 Clan, late model with final dashboard etc, in near perfect condition yesterday in a small local French town. Elderly lady owner, probably had it from new, now used for the weekly veg-makt/shopping run. I've also come across another, 1981 model. with a knackered Culasse/Cylinder Head Gasket. It could also do with a twin door transplant. It's on offer nearby for a reasonable 400 Euros with a negotiable price. It looks pretty good and is sorely tempting!

She's all mine. Immediately named 'Joanie', by my wife, after a diminutive (deceased) favourite aunt of mine. Will keep all up to date with progress on getting her through CT here in the Limousin.
