Just had a frustrating couple of hours looking for the thingy that you lift the bonnet with. Come on, where is it?

I am new to this good forum and the said vehicles. History is, I am buying a renault 4 (not sure what type, photo attached hopefully) for the first time as a gift to my wife as she want a little run around and we are on a tight budget. We wanted something old, a retro feel but no more than 500e.

So, my friend had bought this old rusty beaten up renault 4 with faded surf stickers all over it from a friend of a friend a few months ago. He is too busy doing up his house and a 65 split screen that he has no time for it. When we were searching he said he would sell it to us.

It has no CT and I have not seen the CG yet so do not what year or any vehicle details. The car does run, i drove it briefly when it was bought but now the battery is flat.

I have a feeling this will be first of many posts so I will endeavour to keep the project updated.

Thanks in advance for your help and Happy Christmas R4 fans.

If you're running an R4, or any car of this sort of age, I'd say the haynes manual is indispensable, usually a few reprints on Ebay. Lots of help on here too of course, looks like you have bought a car in the same colour, trim and condition as mine, great minds. It's probably an early 1980's tl with the 845cc engine.

Thank you both. Yes a trusty Haynes manual is on the new year shopping list, hopefully someone will get me some Amazon vouchers this Christmas!

I will try that button and give it go.
