How do you make a venetian blind?

Arf Arf, Yes, I know the answer to that old nugget, but has anyone made one of those fantastic looking blinds I saw on the back window of an R4 once?.
I've seen them on Citroen DS's. Were they an aftermarket item?.

We found one for a 4cv on Ebay some years ago, from Germany I think. They supplied them for all sorts of cars.
